Fascia Release for Hips & Low Back – Yin Yoga Workshop

If you are like most people, you probably experience tension and discomfort in your low back from time to time (or possibly all the time).
Many of our daily activities such as vigorous exercise, sitting for long periods of time or wearing unsupportive shoes can irritate our lower spine. If you often feel achy, tight or in pain by the end of the day then you know what I’m talking about. Luckily, Yin Yoga and the spine go together like pieces of a puzzle.
Practicing Yin has incredible benefits for the spine, hips and full body. Yin offers a wonderful combination of compression (for building bone strength and health) and stretching (or decompression, that helps connective tissue move optimally) which allows the body to release tension in a slow and controlled manner.
Join Jeny Dawson, Yin Yoga Instructor and Trainer, partnering with Chiropractor and Certified Yoga Instructor, Dr. Maddie to learn about the effects of Yin Yoga on the body all the way down to the Nervous System level. Dr. Maddie will teach us about the spine, how it is designed to move, and why yoga is such a profound practice for creating change in your system.
The workshop concludes with a 90 minute Yin Yoga sequence led by Jeny that is designed to stretch the connective tissue surrounding the spine and hips to bring more ease into your body. Complimentary sound healing will be provided for stress relief and relaxation.

This Yin Yoga workshop is at Buddhi Yoga in La Jolla, a bright and open studio with floor-to-ceiling windows, friendly community and good vibes. Bring a yoga mat or you can rent one for $2. The studio has loaner props or bring your own bolster and blanket for comfort.
